1. Acupoints: Lung, Spleen, Lung Shu, Spleen Shu, Taibai.
2. Indications: Obesity due to lung and spleen qi deficiency (simple obesity).
Symptoms include obesity, fatigue, shortness of breath, sweating upon exertion, intolerance to heat and cold, pale tongue, and weak pulse.
3. Location: The Lung point is located in the concha cavity, above, below, and behind the Heart point (center of the concha cavity), forming a horseshoe-shaped area. The Spleen point is located below and behind the point where the crus of the helix disappears, close to the edge of the antihelix. The Lung Shu point is 5 cm lateral to the spinous process of the 3rd thoracic vertebra. The Spleen Shu point is 5 cm lateral to the spinous process of the 11th thoracic vertebra. The Taibai point is located at the posterior border of the head of the 1st metatarsal bone, at the junction of the red and white skin.
4. Procedure: Auricular acupuncture needles or Vaccaria seeds are embedded and secured with adhesive tape. Patients should press the auricular acupuncture points 3 times daily, changing the needles every 5 days. One course of treatment consists of 6 sessions. Acupuncture at body acupoints is performed every other day, with needles retained for 20 minutes each time. One course of treatment consists of 12 sessions. Moxibustion is used at the Taibai acupoint. The tonifying technique is used for acupuncture. Auricular acupuncture and body acupuncture are performed simultaneously.
5. Explanation: Derived from Shanghai Journal of Acupuncture and Moxibustion (1) 4, 1989.
Measurements of blood glucose and glycemic hormone levels before and after treatment revealed that acupuncture can lower fasting blood glucose to normal levels and restore glucose metabolism and glycemic hormone levels to normal. Acupuncture also promotes fat metabolism and inhibits the conversion of glucose into fat, thereby achieving a weight loss effect.
In clinical treatment, for menstrual irregularities, add the Endocrine and Kidney points to the ear acupoints, and add the Diji and Xuehai points to the body acupoints. For those who have been obese since childhood, add the Kidney point to the ear acupoints, and add the Shenshu and Sanyinjiao points to the body acupoints. For those who are obese after childbirth, add the Endocrine point to the ear acupoints, and add the Shimen and Ququan points to the body acupoints.

4. Procedure: After strictly disinfecting the auricular acupoints, embed the needles using a shovel needle. Select 1-2 acupoints each time, changing the needles every 4 days. 7 treatments constitute one course. If there is no significant weight loss (more than 2 kg) after 3 treatments, other acupoints can be selected from the above-mentioned acupoints. Those who see results do not need to change acupoints. The maximum duration for needle embedding should not exceed 1 week.
5. Precautions:
1. Strict disinfection to prevent infection.
② During the needle implantation period, do not let the implantation site get wet to prevent infection.
③ If the patient feels a stinging pain after the needle is inserted, the needle should be removed and reinserted.
6. Explanation: Derived from "Chinese Acupuncture" 6, 1984.
Modern medicine believes that there is an intrinsic physiological connection between the human body and the auricle, with the auricle being the richest in nerves and blood vessels. In particular, the triangular fossa of the concha can be stimulated to regulate the body's metabolic balance. Stimulating the vagus nerve, in particular, can affect insulin levels, suppress appetite, and thus achieve the goal of weight loss.
In a clinical observation of 350 patients after one course of treatment, 115 patients experienced a weight loss of 3-5 kg, 78 patients experienced a weight loss of 6-10 kg, 26 patients experienced a weight loss of 11-15 kg, 14 patients experienced a weight loss of more than 16 kg, and 117 patients experienced a weight loss of less than 3 kg.
Typical Case: Abdullah Nabil, male, 34 years old, engineer. Medical record number 1286. First visit on July 21, 1983.
Weighing 143.5 kg and 1.76 m tall, after three courses of treatment, his weight dropped to 1115 kg.
This method is not very effective for developing adolescents, obese elderly individuals, or those experiencing hunger after the injection. It is also ineffective for women taking birth control pills.

1. Acupoint: Stomach.
2. Main indications: All types of obesity in women.
3. Location: The Stomach Point is located at the point where the helix disappears.
4. Procedure: Use a plastic ear acupressure ring with a sharp, pointed tip to secure it inside the ear canal. Position the pointed tip towards the stomach acupoint and leave the ring in place. Press the stomach acupoint 10 times before meals or when hungry for 1-6 weeks.
5. Explanation: Derived from "Foreign Medicine - Traditional Chinese Medicine and Materia Medica" (4) 4.1983.
A clinical observation of 155 obese women showed that 79% lost 0.45 kg per week, and 16% lost 0.77 kg per week. After 8.5 weeks of continuous treatment, the average weight loss per person was 6.6 kg.

1. Acupoint: Stomach.
2. Main indications: All types of obesity.
3. Location: The Stomach Point is located at the point where the Helix disappears.
4. Procedure: After strict disinfection, use a U-shaped needle to embed the needle into the stomach acupoint and change it every 1-3 days. During the embedding period, press the embedded needle to enhance stimulation before eating or when feeling hungry.
5. Explanation: Originating from foreign medicine - Chinese Medical Journal, Volume 4) 4.1983. Acupuncture at the stomach point can affect the secretion of digestive juices, thereby reducing appetite and achieving weight loss. By pressing the needle when the patient is hungry and before meals, it serves as a timely reminder to the patient to consciously control their food intake, thus having a psychological therapeutic effect.
Simple and temporary obesity responds well to treatment. Secondary, hereditary, and rapidly increasing obesity are more difficult to treat.

1. Acupoints: Stomach, Lung, Hunger Point, Comfort Point.
2. Main indications: All types of obesity.
3. Location: The Stomach Point is located where the crus of the helix disappears. The Lung Point is located in the concha cavity, above, below, and behind the Heart Point (center of the concha cavity), forming a horseshoe-shaped area. The Hunger Point is located at the midpoint in front of the tragus, below the External Nose Point, and at any point on the auricle (comfort point).
4. Procedure: After strict disinfection, use a U-shaped needle to embed the needle. Change the needle every 3 days. During the embedding period, press the acupoint when you feel hungry or before eating.
5. Explanation: Derived from "Foreign Medicine - Traditional Chinese Medicine and Materia Medica" (4) 4, 1983.
Acupuncture at acupoints can lower fasting insulin levels and increase gastrin secretion after water overload. In other words, acupuncture at ear acupoints can affect glucose metabolism, endocrine function, and digestive juice secretion, thus reducing appetite and aiding in weight loss.
Clinical observations have revealed that patients experienced decreased appetite, reduced hunger, increased bowel movements, and mild diarrhea after acupuncture.
Y: Shonai Hospital in Japan treated 73 obese patients using the above-mentioned auricular acupoints plus the cardia acupoint. The method involved simultaneously inserting needles into acupoints on both ears that elicited strong acupuncture sensations. The hunger point was a mandatory acupoint. Thumbtack-type intradermal needles were used, fixed with adhesive tape after implantation, and changed weekly. Stimulation was applied to patients when they were hungry or craving snacks to enhance the therapeutic effect. 10-20 consecutive treatments (2-4 months) were sufficient for effective treatment. The effectiveness rate was 83.5%.

1. Acupoints: Stomach, Lung, Ear, Hunger Point, Shenmen, Triple Energizer, Esophagus, Spleen.
2. Main indication: Simple obesity.
Symptoms include obesity, excessive appetite, abdominal distension, constipation, and fatigue.
3. Location: Stomach is located at the point where the helix disappears. Lung is located in the concha cavity, above, below, and behind the Heart point (center of the concha cavity), in a horseshoe-shaped area. Ear Center is located in the center of the helix. Hunger Point is located on the outer side of the tragus, below the External Nose point. Shenmen is located at the bifurcation of the superior and inferior crus of the antihelix. Sanjiao is located below the opening of the external auditory canal. Esophagus is located in the anterior two-thirds of the lower part of the helix. Spleen is located posterior and inferior to the point where the helix disappears, close to the edge of the antihelix.
4. Procedure: Select 5 acupoints. First, use an ear acupoint detector to find sensitive points in the acupoint area, then apply Wang Bu Liu Xing seeds until a distending and painful sensation is felt. Press the seed-implanted points at least 5 times daily (before meals or when hungry), pressing firmly for at least 30 seconds per acupoint each time, until a sensation of soreness, numbness, distension, burning, and pain is felt. Alternate between one and both ears, once every 5 days, for a course of 3 treatments.
While applying auricular acupressure, take Fangfeng Tongsheng San (pill), 6 grams each time, twice a day. If diarrhea occurs, stop taking the medicine and continue taking it after the diarrhea stops. If constipation occurs, increase the frequency of medication to 4 times a day, or even change to a decoction with 12 grams of Sparganium rhizome and 18 grams of lotus leaf. Take 3-5 doses per week, and 15 days is one course of treatment.
5. Explanation: Derived from "Sichuan Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine" (2) 26, 1988.
Acupoints on the ear, such as the spleen, hunger point, and esophagus point, can regulate the stomach and intestines, while the triple burner and lung points can regulate fluid metabolism, thus they can be used for weight loss. Obesity is often caused by overeating rich and fatty foods, leading to internal accumulation of phlegm and dampness, and stagnation of qi and blood. Fangfeng Tongsheng San can remove food toxins, dampness, and blood stasis from the body. Recent studies have found that this medicine can promote fluid metabolism, has a diuretic effect, and can also promote fat metabolism and increase blood circulation. Clinical practice has also confirmed its good weight loss effect.
During clinical treatment, patients' food intake was not strictly controlled, but they were required to eat three meals a day at regular times, eat fewer snacks, and avoid rich and fatty foods. Observations also showed that the weight loss effect was directly proportional to the number of times and the intensity of pressure applied to acupoints.

1. Acupoints: Liangqiu, Gongsun.
2. Main indications: Simple obesity (including constitutional obesity that begins in childhood and overeating obesity caused by hyperphagia).
3. Location: Liangqiu is 7 cm above the upper lateral border of the patella on the lower limb. Gongsun is at the anterior border of the base of the first metatarsal bone, at the junction of the red and white skin.
Operating method: Select Liangqiu and Gongsun acupoints, alternating between them each time, applying the reducing technique. Afterwards, connect the G-6805 therapeutic instrument to the needle handle, and apply continuous waveform power for 20 minutes. After removing the needles, insert a grain-sized intradermal needle 1 cm deep into the same acupoints used that day, and retain the needles for 3 days. Instruct the patient to press the needle-implanting acupoints 2-3 times daily for 1-2 minutes each time. Change the needles every 3 days. 10 treatments constitute one course. After a one-week break, begin the second course of treatment.
4. Precautions:
① During the needle implantation period, do not let the implantation site get wet to prevent infection.
② If the patient feels pain or has difficulty moving their limbs after the needle is inserted, the needle should be removed and reinserted or another acupoint should be used.
5. Explanation: Derived from the "Abstracts of Acupuncture Papers" of the First World Acupuncture Academic University.
Those who received this treatment all experienced varying degrees of decreased appetite and reduced hunger, with a significant reduction in food intake. The vast majority of patients found that pressing the Liangqiu or Gongsun acupuncture points before meals or when hungry reduced hunger and the desire to eat. It has been reported that Liangqiu and Gongsun can inhibit gastric acid secretion and weaken gastric motility, thus achieving the goal of suppressing appetite and aiding weight loss.

1. Acupoints: Spleen, Shenmen, Lung, Sympathetic.
2. Main indication: Simple obesity.
3. Location: The Spleen point is located below and behind the point where the crus of the helix disappears; it is close to the edge of the antihelix. The Shenmen point is located at the bifurcation of the superior and inferior crus of the antihelix. The Lung point is located in the concha cavity, above, below, and behind the Si point (center of the concha cavity), forming a horseshoe-shaped area. The Sympathetic point is located at the junction of the inferior crus of the antihelix and the inner side of the helix.
4. Procedure: Disinfect the auricular acupoints, apply pressure with vaccaria seeds, and secure with adhesive tape. Divide the acupoints into two groups: one group consists of the spleen and shenmen points (spleen as the primary acupoint and shenmen as the secondary acupoint); the other group consists of the lung and sympathetic points (lung as the primary acupoint and sympathetic as the secondary acupoint). Use one group per session, alternating between groups, changing the acupoints every 7 days. Four sessions constitute one course of treatment. During the treatment period, instruct the patient to press the acupoints for 5 minutes before each meal, ideally until a local pain sensation is felt.
5. Explanation: Derived from "Chinese Acupuncture" (1) 15, 1988.
In a clinical observation of 473 cases, after one course of treatment, 113 cases lost 6 kg, 168 cases lost 3 kg, and 192 cases lost less than 3 kg. The efficacy was generally proportional to the number of treatments.

1. Acupoints: Endocrine, Adrenal gland, Brain, Subcortex, Kidney.
2. Main indication: Simple obesity.
3. Location: The endocrine gland is located below and behind the external auditory meatus, near the intertragic notch. The adrenal gland is located at the lateral margin of the lower part of the tragus. The brain is located on the medial surface of the antitragus. The subcortex is located in the lower half of the medial surface of the antitragus. The kidney is located at the middle third of the lower margin of the antihelix.
4. Procedure: Locate the sensitive points among the above acupoints, press the Wangbuliuxing seeds on the sensitive points, alternate between both ears, change the seeds every other day, and press the acupoints 3 times a day. 10 times constitutes one course of treatment.
5. Explanation: Derived from "Chinese Acupuncture" 6, 1985.
Simple obesity is most likely caused by metabolic disorders. Therefore, acupoints related to the endocrine system, adrenal glands, and kidneys were used. Since the central nervous system controls endocrine organs, points related to the brain and subcortex were also selected. Observations showed that treatment reduced appetite and food intake, eliminating feelings of hunger. In a study of 70 cases over three courses of treatment, 20% showed significant improvement (reduced weight by 25 kg), 54.3% showed improvement (reduced weight by 0.5–2.5 kg), and 25.7% showed no improvement (reduced weight by less than 0.5 kg).
