What to do if your cheekbones are too high?

The cheekbones occupy a very important position on the face. Their height not only affects the shape of the face but also a person's expression. Excessively high cheekbones make the temples and cheeks appear sunken, giving the face a hexagonal or inverted pentagonal shape, making one look haggard and aged. One way to correct this is through liposuction. A suitable amount of subcutaneous fat can be removed from the cheekbone area to appropriately lower its height, making the face appear smoother. The entire procedure only requires two 2mm incisions in the skin, using the finest suction cannula for fat removal.

During the surgery, fat must be removed evenly and in a fan-shaped pattern within the pre-defined area. The trigeminal and facial nerves lie beneath the removed fat; therefore, the procedure must be performed with extreme gentleness. Otherwise, nerve damage can cause facial paralysis or loss of sensation.

Can round or square faces be transformed into oval faces?

Some people are always bothered by the width of their lower face and believe that to solve this problem, they need to have the sides of their jawbone shaved off, but they are afraid of the pain. In reality, the appearance of the face is determined by the attached muscles and fat (Figure 8). Therefore, removing this fat, through liposuction, can often drastically change the face shape. After surgery, the former round and chubby baby face is replaced by a fresh and beautiful oval face.

The degree of change in face shape depends on a person's constitution and personality. The anatomy of the face is also very complex, and age and future weight trends must be considered during surgery, which places higher demands on the surgeon. The surgeon must not only have superb surgical skills to avoid damaging facial nerves and blood vessels, but also possess an artist's aesthetic sense.

The surgery involves making a 2mm incision in the skin and then evenly suctioning fat in a fan-shaped pattern according to the pre-operative markings. During the surgery, attention must be paid not only to the smoothness of the surface and avoiding damage to the facial and trigeminal nerves, but also to correcting any asymmetry in the cheeks to achieve a near-perfect result.

A double chin is gradually formed due to increased subcutaneous tissue and bone atrophy, leading to skin laxity, cell dehydration, and the effects of gravity. A small percentage is due to congenital overdevelopment of mandibular fat. A sagging double chin makes the neck appear shorter and thicker, giving an impression of bloating and lethargy.

Eliminating a double chin can only be achieved surgically. Traditional mandibular fat pad removal surgery involves making a skin incision and locally removing the fat pad, leaving surgical scars. This method does not address the sagging fat in the cheeks and is rarely performed nowadays.

Liposuction can not only eliminate most of the mandibular fat pad but also remove loose fat in the cheeks. This surgical method has the advantages of being scarless, minimally invasive, and having a quick recovery. It can change a face shape that is wider at the bottom and narrower at the top, and is currently the main method for facial contouring surgery.

Similarly, a small 2mm incision is made in the skin, and a liposuction cannula is accurately inserted into the area where fat needs to be removed. Fat is then evenly suctioned from the submandibular region in a fan-shaped, layered manner. During the surgery, it is crucial to properly manage the relationship between the submandibular region and the neck to prevent neck hematoma.
