**Time simmers in the true flavor of nature**

Health preservation has always been a cherished Chinese tradition. For thousands of years, this concept has been deeply embedded in our lives, encompassing food, clothing, housing, transportation, and daily routines. Identifying the nutritional value of food to achieve therapeutic effects through food therapy is a testament to the wisdom of our ancestors. However, modern society keeps us too busy, and we increasingly prioritize quick results when it comes to food, gradually neglecting the importance of dietary supplements. Technological advancements also expose us unknowingly to the risks of various chemical food additives, causing us to forget the beauty of authentic, natural cuisine.

Frequent food safety issues have drawn significant attention from the Chinese people, raising awareness of the importance of preserving original flavors, using natural ingredients, healthy cooking methods, and safe tableware. I was fortunate to encounter Ms. Wu through a series of books during this era, and to learn about her health-preserving soup-making methods that have completely transformed her health. Although I created the LOHAS (Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability) ceramic pot in 2008, emphasizing original ingredients, natural tableware, health-preserving cuisine, and the beauty of a slow-paced life, meeting Ms. Wu and her soup-making methods has given me a completely new understanding of dietary therapy.

I tasted the lotus root, kudzu root, and pork rib soup, personally simmered by Teacher Wu in a Lu Bao ceramic pot. The multi-layered flavor, achieved through 8 hours of slow simmering, combined with the pot's moisture-locking properties and far-infrared enhancement, not only brought out the natural sweetness of the ingredients but also left a lingering, delightful aftertaste. I felt Teacher Wu's dedication and truly understood the essence of traditional Chinese soup-making for health and wellness. Inspired, I began to try making it myself, following the instructions in the book. This year, I even invited Teacher Wu to travel and teach soup-making techniques, hoping to share this essence of Chinese culinary health with more people.

The story behind the creation of this series is truly moving. A woman without a nutrition background, through the efforts of her family and herself, not only shared recipes for different therapeutic effects but also provided a wealth of knowledge on soup-making and tool selection. What she did, everyone should be able to do. The recipes in the book are not only simple and easy to understand but also perfectly suited to the needs of modern people. For me, this book is more than just a cookbook; it's a health and wellness tool, like a dictionary, providing various health and wellness methods whenever I need them. I am truly grateful for the author's selfless sharing, and I can't wait to experience the simmering, natural flavors of this series!

**A dedication to healthy and nourishing soups**

In the early summer of 2014, I met Wu Jilin, the "Soup Mom," at a ceramic pot launch event in Xiamen. Watching her on stage, carefully explaining the process and health concepts of each soup and rice dish, I realized that the process of ceramic production is just as meticulous as it is.

Later, I also started to learn about the soups made by the soup mom. What makes them different from other soups is Ms. Wu's dedication and meticulousness. I could feel her care and attention. In addition, she also patiently shared her various health and wellness soup-making concepts in private.

After this period of interaction, I believe that her persistence and dedication to making soup can provide everyone with a lot of health knowledge in daily life, especially her series of books on making soup, which are worth recommending.

The best way to lose weight is the one that suits you best.

Weight loss has been a constant topic of discussion for me since I started experiencing health problems. Since then, I've experienced obesity twice:

The first time was when I was almost 30 years old. I discovered many tumors in both breasts. At that time, I was under a lot of stress and my work and life were not going well. My body couldn't handle it, and my endocrine system became severely imbalanced. I gained 30 kilograms in a month. At that time, I tried any weight loss method I heard about. As a result, I not only got fatter and fatter, but my health also deteriorated. My complexion became sallow and I was covered in acne. That period was really exhausting for me, both physically and mentally. I hid away from work and avoided seeing anyone. I even became somewhat self-destructive.

By chance, I met my dad at this time, and the positive energy of his family influenced me. I slowly began to emerge from my struggles and face my issues. My mother-in-law, having suffered from a congenital illness since childhood, knew the importance of health. Therefore, she acquired a great deal of skills to care for her family's health. After I married into the family, she extended her care to me, tirelessly sharing all her knowledge. At the time, I was young and didn't like being controlled, so I went through a tug-of-war with my mother-in-law for a while. But after six months, my body spoke for itself: five meals a day, two bowls of rice at each meal, soup before meals, and fruit after meals, and I still managed to lose 15 kilograms! I could clearly feel that my body was better than before!

The second time was when I was 40 and pregnant. The doctor said that due to genetics and poor metabolism from being an older mother, I would gain weight again, reaching 111 kilograms. However, I experienced no discomfort during the pregnancy, and I was still energetic enough to work the day before my baby was born. My child is now 4 years old, and I have lost nearly 50 kilograms. So this book is a complete account of my journey, and I hope you can continue to work hard with me to lose weight healthily and with plenty of energy!

Weight loss should not be rushed, and you should not blindly follow folk remedies. You need to listen to your body and correctly determine the weight loss method that is suitable for your current physical condition. For example, I listen to my body and adjust according to the situation: if I have insufficient sleep, I drink soup to strengthen kidney function; if I have excessive internal heat, I drink more soup to reduce internal heat and detoxify; if I have edema, I drink soup to remove water and dampness. I also combine this with a suitable diet, exercise habits, and other detoxification methods that I have researched and found effective.

The best way to lose weight is to find a method that suits you, that you will continue to use, and that won't harm your body. I hope you can find a method that suits you here.
