Article 19: Meridian Weight Loss – Targeted Weight Loss Methods

Meridian weight loss: target specific areas for weight loss.

Eva is a lovely girl with a petite figure, weighing less than 45 kilograms. At 165 centimeters tall, this is considered a perfect figure, even incredibly thin. However, she has a major problem: her calves are very strong, making her long legs shaped like carrots. She's tried all sorts of methods to "torture" herself, often applying spicy slimming cream at night and wrapping them in plastic wrap, but after several months, she hasn't seen any results, which is very frustrating for Eva.

Many people are like Eva: they appear slim in terms of weight, but struggle to lose fat in certain areas of their body-a condition known as localized obesity. Localized obesity is most common in the abdomen, buttocks, and thighs, and it's notoriously difficult to lose, making it a nightmare for many. Don't worry, meridian-based weight loss is highly effective in addressing localized obesity.

When the meridians are blocked or the flow is slow, it's like a traffic jam on a highway. Nutrients and metabolic waste get stuck together, eventually turning into fat and causing localized obesity. Traditional Chinese medicine's Five Elements and Meridian Theory believes that thick calves are due to blockages in the Lower Jiao and Bladder Meridians, thick arms are due to blockages in the Upper Jiao and Pericardium Meridians, and thick waist and abdomen are due to blockages in the Lung and Large Intestine Meridians. Therefore, localized weight loss requires unblocking the corresponding meridians.

Below are some simple methods for localized weight loss through meridians that you can do at home.

thigh

A pair of slender, long legs is every woman's dream, but since most people now spend their time sitting in chairs both at work and after get off work, they end up with thick, elephant-like legs due to prolonged sitting.

To slim your thighs, you can massage your stomach meridian to promote the absorption and metabolism of nutrients, thereby eliminating the accumulation of nutrients and achieving the goal of slimming your thighs.

The Stomach Meridian is located on the outer thigh, from the outer side of the femur to the muscle bulge above the outer side of the knee joint. Method: Use a small rubber mallet to tap the outer thigh with enough force to feel a slight soreness but not significant pain. Massage and tap from top to bottom, 3 times a day, 30 times each time.

calves

Eva, whom we just talked about, was troubled by her calves. Excessive calf fat is often caused by overdeveloped muscles due to excessive exercise. "Slimming" calves is not easy and requires a certain amount of perseverance. The main area targeted for reducing calf size is the gallbladder meridian.

The gallbladder meridian area on the lower leg is located on the outer side of the lower leg, along the anterior border of the fibula, from the head of the fibula to the front of the lateral malleolus. Method: Use a scraping (gua sha) technique with a pointed scraping board. Scrape along the outer side of the lower leg with the rounded tip, applying pressure until a slight soreness and distension is felt, until redness appears. Note that the lower leg should not be scraped every day; every other day is recommended. Also, women should not perform scraping during menstruation.

lower abdomen

The lower abdomen is relatively easier to slim down compared to other areas; simply doing abdominal massage exercises is sufficient. Abdominal massage not only stimulates multiple meridians, promoting smooth flow of qi and blood, but also massages internal organs, promoting normal water metabolism in the abdomen, reducing fat accumulation, and eliminating belly fat.

Instructions: Place both palms on your abdomen and press down firmly. Repeat this 10 times, twice a day.

arm

Fat on the arms is often called "bat wings," a name that sounds nice, but it's definitely not desirable. The back of the arm is where the Heart Meridian and Small Intestine Meridian run, and fat on the arms is mostly related to abnormalities in the function of these two meridians. You can pinch and massage the back of your arm to promote the circulation of Qi and eliminate "bat wings."

Instructions: Use the pads of your thumb and forefinger to pinch and press the outer side of your arm down to your wrist. Repeat this about 10 times on each side, 3-5 times a day.

hips

Some people think that larger hips are more attractive, but overly full hips create a pear-shaped figure, which is a major flaw that ruins a good figure. Along the groin and inner thighs from the hips to the vulva, there are several acupoints corresponding to the five meridians of the spleen, stomach, liver, gallbladder, and kidneys. Massaging the inner thighs can promote the circulation of qi and blood in these five meridians, thus facilitating fat loss.

Instructions: Use the heels of both hands to apply moderate pressure to push and press on both sides of the hips, along the groin to the root of the thighs, until a sore feeling is felt. Repeat this 20 times, 3-5 times a day.

face

No matter how good your figure is, having a large face is extremely frustrating. Seeing those with "V-shaped faces" only evokes envy and resentment. Is plastic surgery the only way to change your face shape? Of course not! Try meridian therapy! The face is where the Yangming meridian is most widely distributed and has the most abundant Qi and blood. If this abundant Qi and blood is trapped in the face, it will lead to excess nutrition and chubby cheeks. By unblocking the Yangming meridian, a "V-shaped face" is not just a dream.

Instructions: Dip the smooth back of a wooden comb in a suitable amount of olive oil and scrape it from the corner of the mouth toward the hairline. The scraping should be gentle, and you should not scrape the face to the point of congestion. Scrape once in the morning and once in the evening, 20 times on each side each time.

It is important to emphasize that spot reduction requires more persistence and is slower than overall weight loss. Therefore, do not be too impatient; perseverance will surely lead to results.
