Part Fourteen: The Art of Balancing Drinking and Weight Loss
I crave ramen whenever I drink alcohol...
Do you enjoy drinking? No matter how much others try to persuade you to quit, you just can't give it up! There must be quite a few people like that.
Actually, I love drinking.
I have personal experience of wanting to lose weight but not wanting to give up drinking.
It is true that it is easier to lose weight by quitting drinking, but that doesn't mean you have to quit drinking altogether.
After all, as members of society, it's impossible to avoid drinking in social situations.
Although many patients can be cured through medical treatment, it seems that alcohol and tobacco cannot be quit by ordinary means.
In my personal opinion, if alcohol truly has the effect of relieving mental stress, then as long as the amount consumed is less than the amount consumed, drinking alcohol is acceptable.
For example, if you lose 500 grams of weight, as long as your alcohol intake is within that range, it won't have much of an impact on your weight loss.
However, one must pay close attention to the food served at banquets.
Alcohol itself can also enhance appetite. When drunk, the appetite center in the brain is paralyzed, and as a result, you may unknowingly eat a lot.
If I were to recommend a snack to go with drinks, I would choose seaweed, because seaweed is very low in weight and calories.
Eating seaweed dipped in wasabi soy sauce while slowly drinking alcohol is an indescribable experience. However, if you eat too much, be careful not to be startled when you go to the toilet the next day.
But have you ever had this experience: craving carbohydrates like ramen or rice after drinking alcohol?
To understand this, let's first learn about our bodily functions.
The metabolism of alcohol in the body consumes sugar, so the brain feels a sense of crisis and sends a signal to "consume more sugar." As a result, the body completely obeys the signal, and even though you have already eaten and drunk your fill, you will still want to eat ramen or rice soaked in tea.
So, no matter how much you crave ramen after drinking, you must resist the urge.
"That's just an illusion. Actually, we're already full."
Try saying this to yourself first, and your brain will realize: "Oh right, I'm full."
When someone is extremely drunk, they are prone to confusion and disordered instructions, but it is still worthwhile to try.
I often find that all my previous efforts have been wasted because of a single dinner party, leaving me with nothing but wasted hard work.
Even so, remember that your alcohol intake should not exceed the weight you lose, and you should not eat carbohydrates after drinking. You must keep this in mind.
Drinking alcohol should also be done while trying to lose weight.
For someone like me who loves drinking, the biggest enemy of the G-style diet is the bubbly, refreshing amber liquid-yes, beer.
Oh my, just hearing that makes me want to drink it!
Beer has a relatively low alcohol content, so it's easy to drink too much, leading to rapid and merciless weight gain.
I just said that "drinking alcohol is within the range of weight loss".
That being said, losing 500 grams of weight is by no means easy, but drinking 500 grams of beer is a piece of cake.
In just a moment, all the hard work of the day was in vain.
Thinking about it that way, it's better not to drink beer.
"But I just want to drink!" I understand. People who know what it's like to drink beer after a bath probably can't imagine life without beer.
Okay, here's what I'll do: I'll give up the habit of drinking beer every day, and if I do drink, it will only be within the range of weight loss. At banquets, I'll only drink the first beer, and then switch to soju or whiskey. I won't eat carbohydrates after drinking.
When rushing to dinner parties, be prepared to gain weight, but you can eat less to minimize the trauma of dieting.
Fortunately, alcohol has a good diuretic effect, so not all the water you drink will be stored in your body.
Losing weight can be a form of mental torture, and it's sometimes necessary to have a drink to perk yourself up.
The important thing is not to forget about losing weight while having fun.
By the way, the calories in alcohol mainly depend on the alcohol concentration, so high-alcohol-concentration spirits are not good for weight loss.
Oh dear, no... I love drinking, and I get all excited when I talk about alcohol.
Advocating "narcissism"
If you want to lose weight, a self-absorbed sense of self, or "narcissism," is very necessary.
What is everyone's ultimate goal in losing weight? To lose weight? That's not right.
The ultimate goal is to sculpt the perfect body, and losing weight is merely a means to achieve that goal.
First, looking in the mirror gave me self-awareness and ignited my determination to lose weight.
Then, look in the mirror every day to check on the changes in your body shape and enjoy the pleasure of losing a little weight each day.
If you look in the mirror every day, you'll notice a change even if you only lose 500 grams.
You must look in the mirror when you weigh yourself naked on the scale. You're starting to become obsessed with yourself, aren't you? Don't care what others say. Being narcissistic is fine. It's much better than escaping reality and refusing to face your appearance.
Why do people want to lose weight?
Since humans are also animals, the ultimate goal of an individual life is nothing more than to preserve the species, that is, "to continue the lineage through mating".
The more developed the human brain becomes, the more it forgets this principle, or perhaps it forgets it intentionally.
So, where does the desire to lose weight come from? Actually, it's the same as the desire to "become beautiful", "become handsome", "wear cute dresses", "drive a nice car", "be active on the sports field", "be successful in one's career", and so on.
Why do people think this way in the end? Yes, it's to become a popular person.
