The secret to losing 50 kg in a year: Unveiling a painless and enjoyable weight loss method

The basic method was the then-popular low-insulin diet. It involved minimizing calorie and fat intake, plus swimming at the gym. Although I've never liked exercise, I went to the gym three times a week, swimming for an hour each time.

I posted these posts in an online magazine to motivate myself, which helped me stick to it for longer than the first time. I lost 20 kilograms in nine months.

However, I hit a plateau in the seventh month; I just couldn't keep up. First, I stopped exercising, which I wasn't keen on to begin with, using work as an excuse, and then my diet returned to its old state.

Given this, having given up my three weekly swims and resumed my normal eating habits, you can imagine the result: inevitable rebound in a short period.

These two experiences taught me a profound lesson: once you start dieting, well-meaning people around you will offer all sorts of advice, and this advice can leave you feeling overwhelmed.

When I started trying the low-insulin diet, some people told me, "The low-insulin diet doesn't work," and "It's useless if you don't restrict your calorie intake." Once I started restricting my calorie intake, others said, "It's useless if you don't exercise." Even regarding exercise, there were various opinions: "You must do aerobic exercise," "It's meaningless without lymphatic massage," and so on—the demands kept piling up.

I'm a timid person, and when others say these things, I feel uneasy if I don't follow them. At first, the weight loss was going quite smoothly, but gradually, I felt pressured to do this and that, and it felt very forced.

Thus, the number of things I had to do increased, the amount I had to endure increased, and it became increasingly difficult. The thought, "Is losing weight really this painful? I don't know when I'll be able to endure this," began to arise. Every day, I just wanted to end this weight loss process as soon as possible so I could eat whatever I liked without worry.

As a result, if my willpower wavered even slightly, it would be like a burst dam, and my weight would rebound dramatically.

Some people might think that the more painful the experience, the faster you lose weight. This didn't apply to me either. Don't endure unnecessary suffering; as long as you choose an effective method, you will lose weight, at least 50 kilograms in a year.

Therefore, losing weight shouldn't be a painful experience. On the other hand, if losing weight is unpleasant, you won't be able to continue.
