20. Deng Shucai, the Weight Loss Prodigy: His Path from Personal Experimentation to International Certification
21. Weight Loss Prodigy – Deng Shucai
Some say that Tongnan in Chongqing has good feng shui and is a place of outstanding people and talents, having produced many great figures and geniuses in modern Chinese history! Now, Tongnan has produced another genius who can make obese people quickly become slim and have delicate and smooth skin to satisfy people's love of beauty-Deng Shucai.
To truly understand the story, we have to go back five years. At that time, he was only 1.61 meters tall, but his waist circumference reached 1.2 meters, and his weight exceeded the standard weight by more than 20 kilograms. In the sweltering summer, after a single class, he would use several towels to wipe away sweat, and his clothes were soaked through. He would be breathless even with the slightest exertion, and what was even more alarming was that diseases caused by obesity began to appear.
Mr. Deng, who holds bachelor's degrees in both biology and physics and has over 30 years of teaching experience, decided to research a weight loss method suitable for his own situation. His idea received support and assistance from his wife, who comes from a family of traditional Chinese medicine practitioners and works as a TCM doctor, and his daughter, who studied modern medicine.
Mr. Deng, a thoughtful and meticulous teacher, extensively studied medical books and researched numerous sources to analyze the causes of weight gain and explore methods for weight loss in a clear and concise manner. He observed that carbohydrates, animal fats, and proteins in food can be converted into fat in the human body at rates of 100%, 50%, and 10%, respectively. He further observed that pigs fed without grains did not gain weight, but those fed grains became very fat; cows, horses, and rabbits that ate grass had more lean meat and less fat; and that people could taste the sweetness of rice and noodles after chewing for a while, indicating that these contained a large amount of carbohydrates, which were converted into sugar by enzymes in saliva. Based on his knowledge of biochemistry, he concluded that carbohydrates are the main source of substances for fat conversion, and the key to controlling normal fat metabolism lies in certain lipases in the body that break down and synthesize fats.
Teacher Deng learned from the vast literature of traditional Chinese medicine that many precious Chinese herbs not only regulate fat metabolism but also nourish the body with minimal side effects. With the help of his wife and daughter, he conducted hundreds of experiments on himself. Through modern scientific processing and formulation, he finally developed a weight-loss and lipid-lowering tea that satisfied him, which he later named "Kang Er Shou Weight Loss Tea".
The first person to use this product was Professor Deng himself. He started drinking this tea in August 1990. Two months later, his waistline decreased by 32 centimeters, his weight decreased by more than 20 kilograms, and his spirits improved. In the autumn of 1991, he sent another young daughter to Chengdu University of Science and Technology. Some of his former students were surprised to see their teacher, who had become more capable and younger after not seeing him for several years. They asked him why, and when they learned the truth, they were deeply moved and strongly urged their teacher to develop this product to benefit society. Under the strict review and guidance of many experts, the product first obtained approval number (1993) No. 060 from the Sichuan Provincial Health Department, and later obtained approval number (1997) No. 020 from the Ministry of Health.
In June 1994, Deng Shucai established the "Kangershou" health food research institute. The product underwent trials by numerous medical professionals and obese individuals at hospitals including Chongqing West Suburbs Hospital, Chongqing Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, Tongnan County Hospital, and West China Medical University, receiving excellent feedback and attracting a constant stream of inquiries. Subsequently, the product quickly gained popularity among consumers in Beijing, Sichuan, Shenyang, Jilin, Jinan, and other regions.
In 1996, West China University of Medical Sciences conducted toxicity tests, acute toxicity tests, and a two-stage toxicology test on Kang Er Shou slimming tea. The results showed that Kang Er Shou slimming tea was safe, hygienic, and non-toxic. Subsequently, West China University of Medical Sciences conducted animal and human weight loss experiments using Kang Er Shou slimming tea. The results demonstrated that short-term consumption of Kang Er Shou slimming tea could lead to weight loss, with an average weight loss of 6.4 kg per month. Waist circumference, abdominal circumference, hip circumference, and skin fat (upper arm circumference, back circumference) were significantly reduced, demonstrating a significant weight loss and lipid-lowering effect on the human body. It resulted in a more toned physique and had no toxic side effects.
From the first day of your diet, you can eat chicken, fish, eggs, meat, seafood, and green vegetables every day. Maintain a balanced diet to ensure you always eat well and feel full.
After reaching your ideal weight, you can eat a moderate amount of starchy and high-calorie foods. As long as you ensure that your total calorie intake does not exceed the body's required calorie intake, and that you eat a good breakfast, a full lunch, and a light dinner, and do some light and enjoyable aerobic exercise, you can maintain your figure.
The experiment also revealed that the liver slices of the control group animals showed severe fatty liver, while the liver slices of the animals that drank Kang Er Shou slimming tea were completely normal. Furthermore, the control group animals had very high blood lipid levels, while the animals that drank Kang Er Shou slimming tea had completely normal blood lipid levels.
In 1997, the Ministry of Health approved Kangershou slimming tea. The Ministry of Health stated in document No. 020 of 1997 (卫食健字(1997)第020号): "The health benefits of Kangershou slimming tea are weight loss and regulation of blood lipids. It is suitable for obese people, people with high blood lipids, and people with fatty liver."
In 1998, Kang Er Shou slimming tea received FDA certification in the United States.
In 1999, the China Health Care Technology Association discovered that the weight loss theory of Kangershou slimming tea was leading both domestically and internationally.
American and French scientists, after studying Kang Er Shou slimming tea, said, "The fundamental solution to weight loss is in China." Kang Er Shou slimming tea has been exported to the United States, France, and Japan.
