In-depth analysis of how obesity affects appearance and solutions.

What exactly causes obesity?

There are many ways to lose weight. The "record-based weight loss method" advocated here is a hybrid approach combining two methods.

This method requires no money or physical effort and is easy to maintain. It only requires a little effort, but once you get used to it, it becomes an unconscious behavior in daily life, like riding a bike or driving a car.

This has nothing to do with the willpower advocated by exercise-based weight loss methods. For someone like me, who doesn't like exercise but enjoys reading and thinking, it's a suitable weight loss method for cultured people.

We know that an appearance-obsessed society has arrived, and we accept that we are evaluated based on our appearance. Despite this, some people might still think, "Isn't it okay not to be slim?" Even if you're a little overweight, as long as you dress well and maintain a bright expression, you shouldn't leave a bad impression, right?

If you think this way, you're very wrong.

The formation of an impression is divided into three levels.

The first layer is the physical body.

The physical body is divided into physique and body shape.

Physique refers to height, limb length, shoulder width, hand size, head length, etc. These are determined by the skeleton and are innate, unchangeable later in life. The only thing that can be changed is through plastic surgery, which can only alter a few minor aspects like the height of the nose and the shape of the chin.

Body shape refers to waist circumference, thigh thickness, and the contours of the cheeks and chin, all composed of muscle or fat. These can be changed; weight loss and exercise can significantly improve these features.

Your physical body is composed of these two elements: physique and body shape.

The second layer is fashion.

Clothing, hairstyle, accessories, etc. For women, this includes makeup, and for men, beards have a similar effect. These are things that can be easily changed in daily life, and are what women strive for.

The third layer is speech and behavior.

Actions, expressions, voice, manner of speaking, posture, etc., constitute a person's behavior. People may easily overlook this, but behavior plays an unexpectedly important role in a person's outward impression.

As mentioned above, the second layer builds upon the first, and the third layer builds upon the second; this is how a person's outward impression is constructed. Just like a house, the first layer is the land, the second is the building, and the third is the interior decoration.

Of these, the most important, and influencing all other factors, is the first layer. If a house is far from the station, in a dangerous area, or in a bad location, no matter how beautiful the exterior or interior decoration, its price will not be high.

No matter how small the space, if it is located in a prime location in the city center, the price will be high. Conversely, even the most spacious house, if located in the wilderness of Hokkaido, has no investment value.

The same applies to outward impressions; the most important element is the first layer—the physical body. If you're overweight, no matter how hard you dress up, try to hide your figure, or put on a bright smile, the effect won't be significant. You might lose a few points, but you'll never gain any. Because no matter how hard you try, you can't become thin.

If you're only slightly overweight, you can compensate with fashion sense and your behavior. However, if you're significantly overweight, these methods will fail. All your efforts will be negated by the image of being "overweight."

If you're already considered "overweight," then getting rid of that image as soon as possible is the best course of action.
