Obese patients often suffer from endocrine disorders. Ear acupuncture can correct these disorders, accelerate a slow metabolism, and restore it to normal, thus achieving a weight loss effect. The above methods also regulate the function of the gastrointestinal system. Shenmen (HT7) can inhibit gastrointestinal motility, while the large intestine, lungs, and cardia promote bowel movements. This limits food intake while promoting the excretion of metabolic waste, reducing the reabsorption of some nutrients and thus aiding in weight loss.

This method was used to treat 200 patients. 26 patients lost more than 5 kg, 55 patients lost 3 to 4.5 kg, 97 patients lost 1 to 2.5 kg, and 22 patients lost less than 1 kg (9 of whom were treated only once).
